2008 Ranger Hall of Fame

The objective of the Ranger Hall of Fame is to honor and preserve the contributions of the most extraordinary U.S. Rangers in American history, to identify and highlight individuals as role models for current era Rangers, and to educate the public on the culture of the U.S. Army Rangers.

For 2008, fourteen Rangers have been selected for induction into the Ranger Hall of Fame. Following are the names of these men and their Ranger service.

MAJ Gordon Meanley - 1st Ranger Company, Florida Ranger Camp
SGM Frank Moore – E Company (LRP) 20th Infantry, C Company 75th Infantry (Ranger), N Company 75th Infantry (Ranger), Mountain Ranger Camp
1SG Douglas Perry - Advisor 42nd and 44th Vietnamese Ranger Battalions, Mountain Ranger Camp
MG John Raaen – 5th Ranger Battalion
LTC Ellis Reed – 5th Ranger Battalion
COL John Ripley – Marine Ranger School graduate, Force Reconnaissance, Royal Marine Commandos, Advisor Malaya Commandos
CSM Ramon Rodriquez – 2nd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment
SGT Robert Scully - 3d Ranger Company
COL Leo Strausbaugh - 6th Ranger Battalion

The induction ceremony will take place at Fort Benning, Georgia in June.

June 11 -- 1000 -- 75th Ranger Rgt Distinguished/Honorary Member of Regiment Ceremony

June 11 -- 1330 -- Ranger Hall of Fame Ceremony

There will be no Ranger Rendezvous (per se); Ranger Training Brigade will have their change of
command ceremony on July 10, 2008, York Field, 0900.
